The Fairgrounds is located approximately 8 miles north of Downtown New Orleans on Airline Highway in Mid-City and accessible via Interstate 10.

Fairgrounds were first constructed in the 1840s for New Orleans’ annual agricultural fairs. The city’s first permanent fairgrounds were built in 1852, and the site has been used for events such as the World Cotton Centennial, Louisiana Purchase Exposition, and the New Orleans World’s Fair.
