PRODUCT FEATURES & USES
Product Features
ULTRA-GUARD is not a surface coating. It is an example of the latest chemical technology utilizing crosslinking of flouropolymers to fibers. Each fiber is impregnated with millions of “string- like” flourochemical “umbrellas” that surround each fiber in a protective barrier. The protection does not readily break down with use or with cleaning, thus giving an extremely long lasting protective affinity to the fiber structure.
Our fabric protection formula chemically bonds with the fabric or yarn, creating a permanent protection against spills, soiling and fading associated with pet stains, grass stains, blood stains, food and beverage and other stains.
ULTRA-GUARD, Inc offers the ultimate in on-site fabric care nationwide, with Stain Removal, Fabric Protection and Maintenance cleaning of fine upholstery, carpet, exotic rugs, leather and suede.
THE ULTRA-GUARD CHEMICAL DESCRIPTION
ULTRA-GUARD is an advanced stage liquid flouropolymeric treatment designed to protect fabrics and carpet from waterborne, oilborne and soilborne mediums.
ULTRA-GUARD becomes an inherent part of the fibers, effectual to waterborne, oilborne and soilborne resistance on fiber structures. ULTRA-GUARD protection is uniform throughout each fiber. It is important to note that ULTRA-GUARD does not change the breathability of the fiber.
ULTRA-GUARD additional benefits impart greater abrasion and fade resistance to fabrics and carpeting, thereby causing them to retain their new appearance longer, with no change of color, hand or flame rating.
ULTRA-GUARD has been tested in accordance with accepted industry methods to evaluate its performance and safety alone and in comparison with other known products. The following pages of information are based upon summaries of these findings.
Product Uses

Description of Fine Fabrics and Textiles in your home
A textile - Any type of material made from fibers or other extended linear materials such as thread or yarn. Classes of textiles include woven, crochet, knitted knotted (as in macramé or tufted cloth, and non-woven fabrics such as felt and Ultrasuede).
Acrylic - Artificial fiber made from a special group of vinyl compounds, primarily acrylonitrile. Acrylic is the most sun resistant of all fabrics.
Brocade - Fabric, originally silk, Brocade is characterized by a compact warp-effect background with one or more fillings used in the construction to make the motif or figure. Also made of cotton and synthetic fibers.
Canvas - Strong, coarse cloth of cotton, flax, hemp, or other fibers, early used as sailcloth.
Chenille - A heavy fabric woven with chenille cord; used in rugs upholstery and bedspreads. Chenille yarns can be made from any fiber, but most commonly they are composed of cotton, wool, rayon or nylon.
Chintz - Originally a painted or stained calico from India and used in Europe for bedcovers and draperies. Modern chintz is usually made up of bright prints on a light background.
Coir Made from the fibrous mass between the outer shell and the nut of the coconut.
Damask - Damascus fabric of silk, wool, linen, cotton, or man-made fibers, with a pattern formed by the weaving; e.g., the ground may be in twill weave, and the contrasting design in satin.
Jute Made from the fiber of the Corchorus plant. Grown mostly in Asia.
Linen - Fabric or yarn made from the fiber of Flax.
Polyester - Synthetic fiber, produced by the polymerization of the product formed when an alcohol and organic acid react. The outstanding characteristic of polyesters is their ability to resist wrinkling and to spring back into shape when creased.
Rayon - Synthetic fibers made from cellulose or textiles woven from such fibers; more rayon is manufactured than any other synthetic fiber.
Satin - Lustrous silk in which the filling is so arranged as to bind the warp as seldom as possible and so spaced that practically nothing shows but the warp.
Seagrass Made from grasses in saltwater marshes.
Silk - Fine, translucent, yellowish fiber produced by the silkworm in making its cocoon and covered with sericin, a protein.
Sisal A leaf fiber made from the leaves of the Agave family.
Ultrasuede A non-woven fabric composed of textile fibers and bonded together to form a suede look and feel. Ultrasuede is durable and colorfast.
Wool - the fiber derived from the hair of animals of the Caprinae family, principally sheep, goats, and alpaca.
ULTRA-GUARD PROTECTS ALL TYPES OF LEATHER
LEATHER FINISHES
There are a multitude of distinct kinds of leather, while some are known for their strength and toughness, others are known for their softness.
Full grain - is produced from the top side of the leather - that is the outside of the skin; the surface will be smooth and polishable.
Suede - is produced from the underside of the skin and has a distinctive nap. The nap can be altered to be very fine, or long-almost hairy in appearance.
Pigmented - leathers have a light surface spray of color added at the final stage. This produces a uniform appearance, good for more formal shoes or leather goods.
Nubuck - is produced from full grain leathers. The grain is abraded away to create a light surface nap. This can be adjusted to be very fine, or a longer, softer effect can be produced.
